Van and Smith is the oldest medium voltage representative agency in the State of Florida. In 1946, the Robert P. Smith company was founded by Robert Smith. Robert VanLandingham Sr. purchased the company in the mid 1950’s and changed the name to Van & Smith Co., Inc. Since then, V&S has been focused on supplying the highest level of engineered products and services to our customer base. Our company focuses on the sales of medium voltage equipment, accessories, cable tray, and industrial lighting. We cover the peninsular part of Florida, from Apalachicola River to Tallahassee East down South to the Keys. We serve the utility, industrial, institutional, commercial and military markets. We routinely consult with specifying engineers and provide specification support, budgetary pricing, and guidance on all aspects of electrical projects. We also offer training and support to contractors in installation of medium voltage terminations and splicing.
Christy has over 15 years of experience in the electrical industry. She began her career working at MAFB as a contractor before transitioning as a chemical process engineer. After working for a few years as a chemical engineer, Christy transitioned into sales and began working as a Sales Engineer. Joining Van and Smith in 2005,
Charlie is a registered professional engineer. He has over 30 years of Engineer experience with international experience in sales, project implementation, process improvement, equipment repair/upgrade and business operations. Charlie began working with Van & Smith Company in 2018 and handling the North Florida market.
Randy has over 30 years experience in the electrical and manufacturing industries. Randy transitioned to G&W Electric Co providing support for the sales agents in providing MV switches and reclosers as both a national and region sales manager. In 2016, Randy joined Van & Smith to cover the south Florida market by supplying sales and support
Shannon began her career with a local electrical manufacturer’s rep in 1995. In 2003, she transitioned to inside sales with a local electrical distributor. Shannon joined the Van & Smith company in 2008, and has worked as inside sales supporting the outside sales reps as well as office management.
